Sometimes I just can't get my fill of this combination salad: Bartlett pears- I can't stress the Bartlett part enough. Baby spinach or begian endive. Peppered bacon, crumbled. Red onion slivers. Toasted pinenuts or pecans. Maytag blue cheese and/or a crumbly aged cheddar. Balsamic vinagrette or a thin, creamy garlic dressing, if you make one. Thinly sliced button mushrooms. I can say no more. Why is it so good? I just don't know. Have it with some thick toasted slices of good country bread, rubbed with a little garlic. Go to town.
I'm with you! Those are some of my favorite food stuffs!

I rarely combine more than four ingredients in a salad, but that's only because of my lax shopping habits. The ingredients you've listed are among my favorites.

I like spinach salads and make them with everything you've listed except pears. And I've always meant to try a pear and don't know why I haven't. I'll have to remember to pick one up next weekend at the farmer's market.
