Deccanheffalump, of the excellent cook's cottage has tagged me for this meme:
1. Delve into your blog archive.
2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
3. Find the fifth sentence(or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog, along with these instructions. Ponder it for meaning, subtext, or hidden agendas....
Tag 5 others to do the same.
The fifth sentence of Digger's Cabbage Soup 1968, a story of cooking in my college days (of yore, as you can see by the date) was:
"Once, someone brought some food which was private property, and wrote her name on her cantelopes."
Hmmm. I suppose I might note the amazing power of food (and smells) to trigger memory. I do believe that I can still smell those ripe and gorgeous cantelopes, which were off limits, and only to be eaten by the exclusive Ms. A., ....or that food is politics, which it is, along with a lot of other things. But I was mostly just going on about the pleasures and pitfalls of sharing food with other people, a pastime and subject which is really endlessly amusing to me. I feel fortunate to have found a place to continue to carry on about this and related topics, as much as I like.
I will tag the following people, and hope that they won't find this burdensome:
anapestic of anapestic,
Amy of Beauty, Joy, Food
Kimberly of Music and Cats
redfox of The Hungry Tiger; and
and the chubby cat of chubby cat cooks
Only if you feel like it.
